Service and data
Torah Pod is a free Torah podcast website and Android app. You can listen without an account. The app stores your language, followed shows, queue, saved and played episodes, and listening progress on your device. Clearing app data or uninstalling may remove this local state.
If you choose Google sign-in, Google and Firebase Authentication handle sign-in and provide Torah Pod with an account identifier and basic profile details. Torah Pod's account service stores the followed shows, saved episodes, progress, and listening history you choose to synchronize. We use these for account access and synchronization across your devices. Account export and deletion are available from the account menu.
Podcast submission requests
A submission may include a source URL, title, description, artwork URL, speaker, contact email, notes, and confirmation of your rights to submit it. This information goes to a private review repository and notification email for review and response. The retention rule we adopted on October 14, 2026 is to remove optional contact details and free-form notes that are no longer needed from declined or incomplete requests within 90 days of closure, and from approved requests within 30 days after onboarding is complete. We are applying this rule to earlier requests as well. Some older private records and notification emails may still contain these details beyond the target periods while we review and remove them. If an active support, rights, or security matter requires specific details, we will document the reason and review it again. Public podcast metadata and the minimum record needed to operate or substantiate publication may remain.
Providers, security, and retention
Cloudflare processes ordinary network and security signals to serve the site and protect forms through Turnstile. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate page views and performance. Google and Firebase provide optional authentication. GitHub stores private review requests. Podcast hosts, artwork providers, feed hosts, and media CDNs receive ordinary network requests when you open or play their content; their policies also govern their services. Torah Pod does not sell user data, use personalized advertising, or request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or payment information.
Service traffic uses HTTPS. Account data requires Google authentication, and private review material is limited to authorized operators. Synchronized account data remains until you delete your Torah Pod account. Deletion removes the Torah Pod Firebase identity and synchronized listening data. A minimal one-way deletion receipt may remain to prevent stale tokens from restoring a deleted account. You may need to clear local device data separately. Deleting a listener account does not automatically remove published podcasts or independent publication-rights evidence.
Deletion and contact
You can delete your account in the app or through the website without installing the app. If you have lost access to your Google account, request deletion by email; we will ask for enough information to verify the request. For removal of eligible private submission information or a content-rights inquiry, email torahyoupod@gmail.com.
